About me

I’m a Senior Product Designer with 8 years of experience turning messy systems into products people actually trust. Most of that time was spent at Snap Inc., with earlier years at Yalantis and on independent work in between.

My name is Yuliia. Online, I go by Yu Yonder.
''Yu" is the first two letters of my name. "Yonder" means over there, in the direction shown.

It's the most honest description of how I work: pulled toward problems that don't have solutions yet. A new country. A new medium. A product category that hasn't been named.

The thread

  1. Consumer scale
5 years at Snap Inc., designing for Snapchat's 850M+ users. Built products as a system and shipped templates that the Lens Studio creator community still uses to make their own.
  2. Emotion, measured
I studied how emotion is measured at the University of Amsterdam Emotions Summer School — cognitive psychology, neuroscience, the mechanics of affect. It's the substrate of everything I design.
  3. Augmented reality, academically
Chevening Scholar at the University of Edinburgh, researching AR with academic rigour rather than product urgency — methods, accessibility, the limits of the medium.
  4. Systems beyond software
A short 2.5-month internship at the Canadian Parliament left a lasting lesson: every rule people follow was designed by someone. The work is making that intent legible — whether it's legislation or a settings panel.
